Constructed 1920

The Chief Theater on Coal Ave., originally opened in 1920. It could seat 650 patrons. In 1936, the Chief was completely remodeled in Pueblo Deco style. Its owner at the time R.E. Griffith, also owned the El Rancho Hotel. Long-closed as a movie house, the former Chief Theater is now home to City Electric Shoe Shop and owned by the Bonaguidi family.
