Constructed 1890
Lincoln Park was one of two municipal parks platted in the City of East Las Vegas after the railroad steamed into the town on July 4, 1879. Lincoln Park’s close proximity to the railroad district two blocks away made it a popular location for housing for Santa Fe railroad staff and crew. Some of the city’s finest stone Italianate houses are located around the park, along with Queen Anne and Classical Revival cottages. The park hosted the First Rough Riders Reunion in 1899, as hundreds of Spanish American War veterans pitched their tents here during the festivities. With a central bandstand and playground equipment, Lincoln Park is popular with families for leisure and picnics.
