Deming, NM has a unique relationship to the Mimbres culture and is celebrating this heritage with a collection of Mimbres pots at their museum and oversized Mimbres pots on the sidewalks used as planters. Visitors can enjoy the unique beauty and learn more about the pots at the museum and as they tour the MainStreet district. Created by Desert Bloom, Inc., in Albuquerque, they serve as part of an artful and unique way finding system to connect parts of the downtown, encouraging pedestrians in the business district. The designs for the pots were reportedly selected referencing the Mimbres pottery on display at the museum.
