Constructed 1910.

We are grateful to be the stewards of the last two remaining natural flow bathhouses in what was originally know as “Ojo *Caliente* de las Palomas” later known as Hot Springs, NM and currently known as Truth or Consequences, NM. These two bathhouses shelter the original source of the hot springs and there are no pumps or pipes…. simply the natural flow of continuous hot springs. Each of the bathhouses located at La Paloma Hot Springs & Spa originally known as “Marshall Miracle Pools” and Paloma Too formerly known as “Hay-Yo-Kay Hot Springs” are over 90 years old.

Nine of the units for lodging were originally cabins erected to house the workers during construction of Elephant Butte Dam ordered from the Sears Roebuck catalog prior to 1910. The original drainage canal (still in use) is also located on this property and delivers the highly mineralized hot spring water directly to the Rio Grande and on to water the Hatch chiles that are so loved. These bathhouses are home to two the few remaining sources of “noble” or “structured” water in the country.
