Just west of Las Cruces, the streets of Deming salute their ties to the Mimbres culture and the pottery that has been found in the area with a Mimbres Museum and large pots painted in the Mimbres style in the streets.

Morgan Hall
Constructed 1908. Built in 1908, it was originally the City Hall and fire station. It was remodeled in 1938 by the WPA in Spanish-Pueblo Revival Style. Silver Avenue Historic District
Constructed 1900. With the arrival of the Southern Pacific Railway in 1881 and the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad six months later, the town of Deming was born. World War I – Claude Close Howard Memorial
Constructed 1920. A granite marker in front of the Luna County Courthouse commemorates the only casualty from Deming in World War I. Claude Close Howard was killed in action in France. The marker is set on concrete blocks and has a bronze plaque and picture of Mr. Howard 700 S. Read more…
