Built in 1929, Sierra Grande Lodge is part of the Hot Springs Bathhouse and Commercial Historic District in Truth or Consequences, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The transformations it has undergone in the many years since its origination as the first bathhouse have been extensive and varied. The Vera Hotel has undergone many transformations since it was floated down the Rio Grande from Elephant Butte to perch high above the town of Truth or Consequences. The Vera Hotel now serves as our conference & meeting facility. The Sierra Grande was purchased in 1991 by partners Serge and Guy Raoul, owners of Raoul's restaurant in New York City, who modernized the facility and hosted many legendary dinners during their tenure. The hotel was purchased in 2013 by media magnate Ted Turner and continues to operate as a luxury hot springs spa hotel.
